That’s the heart of small-town N.C., and his visit comes just days after he put his foot squarely in his mouth with a remark describing people in small-town Pennsylvania:
"It’s not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion
or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or
anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
Greenville is some 245 miles from Charlotte, in northeastern N.C., a region among the most rural in the state. Its small towns and crossroads wrestle with the same economic challenges and changes Obama confronted in Pennsylvania.
Guns and God are both important to many people there. There’s also nervousness at the pressure Latino immigrants put on local resources and their impact on a limited job market.
But is small-town N.C. the land of guns and God? Are Obama’s remarks about turning to bitterness and xenophobia on target? Or are they out of touch and a slap in the face?
(To see what he says to small-town North Carolina today, read this live blog of his speech from Reflector.com, beginning at 4 p.m.)
What do you think? Does Obama know enough about small towns and the people who live in them to accurately understand their plight, their lives and their concerns? What should he have said?
I am sorry but I agree with Obama and I am from a very small town. Those are all reasons why I left!
ReplyDeleteWe left Chicago to take professional jobs in Charlotte and honestly understand exactly what he is saying.
ReplyDeleteEven college educated bankers are so hick and bumpkin in this small town and make no mistake Charlotte is small potatoes compared to a real urban big city like Chicago.
Charlotte is the biggest hicktown on the planet it seems. All we see are redneck bubbas with southern accents many who wear a coat and tie. Even the local birdcage liner Observer is 99% hick.
We express our views and all we get back is we can return to Chicago ot go home yankee.
This is ludicris. We won.
We own this place.
Get rid of your guns and get rid of that idiot religion you practice where people can act like morons with stupidity.
Obama was on target.
Hicktown Charlotte with a redneck church on every corner and a gun in every house. Pathetic.
Then go back to Chicago; if you need directions then buy a may (if you can read one). Typical out of state loser.
ReplyDeleteI'm originally from a small town in Ohio and have lived in the Charlotte metro area for 16 years.
ReplyDeleteI think Obama's comments are extremely offensive. Small town America is the backbone of our society. The people from my hometown are hardworking people who just want to make an honest living. They go to church because it's important to them and their values, not because they are pissed at the world.
Obama is talking down to small town folk as bible thumping, gun toting, racists. It just shows that he does think he's a self-important elitist.
BTW: Chicago people, if you hate it here so much, why subject yourself to such misery? Just leave.

If my primary exposure to religion was some place like Trinity, I can understand why he would think bitter people would cling to religion...
ReplyDeleteAre you really desperate for something to blog about to get readers all riled up? Obama has already addressed this over and over. How many times and for how long are the media going to keep beating this horse?
ReplyDeleteThe problem isn't big town vs. small town. The problem is Obama has no understanding of "small town."
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately for him (and maybe for our country), he will lose a presidential election if he doesn't get the small town, mom-and-pop vote. And after slamming a way of life he doesn't understand, I'm not sure he has a chance to win that vote.
I'm as middle of the road as a person can be politically, but doesn't anyone ever wonder why nearly all the talk in our country (courtesy of the media) is pro-Democratic party and Anti-Republican party, yet Republicans have won every election except for Clinton's two terms since JFK (I don't count Jimmy Carter's win, since he beat the lone person ever to be in office who wasn't voted in by the people as either VP or Pres, Gerald Ford)
I am originally from a small NC town and I found Obama's words to be very offensive. My family and I did not cling to guns, religion, and looking down on those unlike ourselves to get where we are today. I find religion to be apart of my life in the good and bad times and not just in times of trouble.
ReplyDeleteCurrently, my husband and I have live in Charlotte. We love it. I am not hick or redneck and honestly, I take offense to that as well.
As for the Chicago person who posted, if you are unhappy with Charlotte, the highway always leads back there.
"Obama is talking down to small town folk as bible thumping, gun toting, racists."
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly what small town folk are like! Sorry, but it is the truth.
Keep in mind that Obama during has state leadership was AGAINST protecting yourself in your own home against an intruder. He wanted to make it illegal to shot the person breaking into your home to kill you. He has some strange ideas. ps. I'll keep my Southern ways, thank you.
ReplyDeleteI want to back up my comment on the self-defense stance that IMHO Obama took.
ReplyDeleteIllinois resident Hale DeMar was prosecuted by the town of Wilmette for using a handgun to defend his home in 2003. Wilmette had imposed a ban on the possession of handguns, in effect making the town a gun-free zone.
To correct the situation, several Illinois state legislators introduced SB 2165 to protect the right of self-defense for residents like DeMar. Obama voted against the bill.
That self-defense bill protecting the right to bear arms for law-abiding citizens such as DeMar passed the Illinois state Senate and was enacted into law over the governor’s veto (and Obama’s opposition).
It is easy for Obama to make comments like the ones he did. He is of a minority and he got to where he is today because of that. That is the problem with our country today…. we have given it up to the minorities and given them everything and every right they need and want to better themselves. Maybe one day we will do the same for those who work hard and do not use the color of their skin as an excuse for everything.
ReplyDeleteOh wait, we can not do that because that would be racist.
And for the people from Chicago… I have been here 8 years and could not agree with you more. I guess you did not get the letter with the “Welcome to Charlotte” packet that says the Charlotte is the center of the world and we all need to revolve around it.
We came from a small town in Ohio called New Richmond outside Cincy and now live in small town outside Charly called Fort Mill.
ReplyDeleteAll cities began as small towns didnt they?
What is a city? What is a town? No cities or towns over 500 yrs ago when Columbus discovered America. Even New York City formerly New Amsterdam population was less than 20,000 during the Rev War in 1776 but had grown to 800,000 during the Civil War. Dont cities use up"town" or down"town"? Even small towns are small cities.
This is all semantics anyway.
There are no Christians in cities? We arent sure Rev Wright and his flock as Christians but they def resemble jihadist Islamics. Noone owns guns in cities? Did Obama count the criminals who own guns? This is a laugh.
Stereotyping by those who hate to be stereotyped? Hypocrisy to the max.
The fact is there are just as many in big cities with the God and Gun mentality as in small towns percentage wise. Also most whites live in suburban towns and not inside the inner cities where mainly blacks live. He needs to point this out. He omitted white flight over the past 60 yrs.
Small towns or small cities have no monopoly on "bitter" either.
People in small towns probably less bitter than those in big cities as Rev Wright proves.
But then again who the hell cares? City or small town people are all people and the differences are zero when it all gets down to it. Stupid comment by Obama.
You left Chicago to take professional jobs in Charlotte and apparently started complaining about peoples accents and cultures the second you got here. You won what, the right to be a jerk. Everyone has that right, you don't have ownership of that. Are you really suprised that your view "criticism" of something different than you had in Chicago you receive rude comments in return. If you did not expect that you are an idiot! You cannot enter another culture and criticize so much about it and expect to be accepted 100%. If you don't want a gun I'm fine with that but in this country I am guaranteed the right to legally bare arms. If you have a big problem with that don't go back to Chicago, go to England or Australia. You need to accept the fact that your way is not the only way and if you go any where in the world and criticize the way someone talks and their culture you will receive a harsh response. You think you can say what you want to in the guise of just being honest. When you tell someone "you are a redneck bubba with a southern accent and are low class even if you do wear a coat and tie" that is not honesty that is flat out rude. How would you feel if someone said "you are an arrogant prick who thinks you can go somewhere different and condemn people from that area for sounding like they are from that area and have the gall to get upset if we don't love you for being an arrogant prick with a nasaly midwestern accent"?
ReplyDeleteIn the "land of guns and God", expect more questions about flag pins and other trivial nonsense.
ReplyDeleteOn Saturday, April 26th, a small group that I was a part of, made a short walk towards the court house in Macon County, to exercise our rights to vote in a primary election, guaranteed to us by our Constitution. We, as Obama supporters, felt it as an obligation to exercise our beliefs and values and progressed towards the early voting process to state these beliefs. During this small walk, a very negative racial slur was blurted out towards our support of Obama and it was ignored and the group continued to the courthouse. Why did we vote for Obama? Every day we hear the public griping about fuel prices, food prices (71% higher than last year), living conditions, school financing problems, etc. Who has the chance to change the goings on in Washington? The same people that are there and have been there for 35 years? No. Why is the public so scared to take a chance for a change in our government? Why does the public hang on to the same way that Washington has acted for the last eight years? There is only one choice for our CHANCE to change the way Washington works and a CHANCE for us to gather together and to CHANGE high prices of food, gas and living costs. Barack Obama is our CHANCE and we need to step up and not support what is and was, but rather support what CAN BE. Before you vote for a candidate, ask youself if you want the same or do you want to take a chance for something different. That is your choice. It is time for our country to come together before the Washington machine destroys it.

Want to understand Sen. Obama watch Rev. Wright's new speech today at the Washington press club. I learned a lot more about the good Rev. I can't understand why he stayed there for 20 years. I did find it odd that Rev. Wright did tell us he wanted to be Sen. Obama's Vice President.
ReplyDeleteI guess Rev. Wrights deciding to speak out is all Clinton's fault. Just like all the other mistakes he has made before he decided to run and after. Did she make him say socialism is OK as long as its voted in (Readding PA town hall meeting 4-20-08). Look it up on C-SPAN it's near the end.
Rev. Wright said they are politician and pastor and have to say what they have to say. He told Obama when he wins he will be right behind him. Package deal.
ReplyDeleteObama says he is not a practising muslim. Fools us abnd lets muslim believe he is. He is yet to publicly "Denounce Islam". It makes a difference.
Why did Obama send Dick Morris to Kenya to interfer in that mess. He is not pres yet and could get us involved. They chop up men, women and kids with machetes. Leave us out of it.
Hillary Clinton understands and respects all Americans. We have a very diverse country and heaven knows it must be hard to campaign and connect with everyone. She may have come a long way but everyone carries their roots with them. Hers is small town PA and Illinois.
ReplyDeleteHillary does a fine job of listening and understanding the issues of differing groups of Americans. She is truly sincere in her wanting to help people.
No radical comments or views, just an incredibly intelligent, hard worker like the rest of us.
She is the type of person I want to see as president.
This is to comment about the “bitter” flap. Hillary and McCain have absolutely no wiggle room to deal in triviality such as they are doing about Obama’s “bitter” comment. When they state that it is elitist, they are wrong, so wrong. Every Sunday thousands of ministers over this country preach, exhorting us to, in times of trouble, cling to our faith, religion, etc. and pray. An ongoing under current to most of these messages is that those, who don’t pray to God, may be led by Satan into worse things. When we have troubles, a sick child without insurance, four kids to feed and have lost the job overseas, while the CEO bails out with a quarter billion dollars, add to this, lying politicians, who go into communities making vain pandering promises in exchange for votes, it is very painful. We often respond with anger, resentment and much bitterness. During such times we, of necessity, cling even closer to other things in our lives that have value to us.
ReplyDeleteI suggest that when there is no such outlet for a person under such duress, tragedy may easily follow. Wiping out one’s family, work place shooting, and mass killings are known consequences.
Furthermore, there may be fifty ways to say something. Those, who are criticizing Obama, are, being elitists by implying that their way is the only way. The basic truth, of Obama’s comment, is irrefutable. All one needs to do is listen to the radio talk shows. That there are “bitter” people out here is actually putting it mildly, because one may easily detect real hatred coming from some callers. Heston’s “my cold dead hands” comment was hardly spoken out of love!
And talking further about elitists, both Hillary and McCain exemplify the term completely. In taking the position that theirs (vote to invade Iraq), was the only answer above all others, epitomized the ultimate in elitism. That they voted, to throw open the gates of hell upon the Iraqis, is of no visible consequence to them. That’s elitism run amok. And, that they did so without bothering to read the Intelligence Estimate for themselves, further demonstrate the fact that they are up to their necks in elitism.
Last time I looked I have no right to a job, healthcare or cheap gas. Our Constitution does guarantee me the right to own a gun and to worship how I choose. I am not bitter about anything, just frightened by politicians like Obama who I feel would take my rights away.
ReplyDeleteAll the people who have concealed weapon permits, beware. Obama is against them.
ReplyDeleteSenator Obama said, "I am not in favor of concealed weapons. I think that creates a potential atmosphere where more innocent people could (get shot during) altercations."

-- I am beginning to wonder if Wright is trying to hurt Obama on purpose. --
ReplyDelete-- Wright is out to sink Obama - Why else would he be doing this and saying the crap he is saying? --
a) Wright has a national stage now for the
first time in his lunatic-rant life. He can't
pass it up. He thinks he can sell more people
than ever now!
b) Wright is clearly upset about being tossed
under the bus by Obama out of political necessity.
He is not specifically trying to sink Obama,
but is saying "If you are to win, you have to
do it with me on the radar. Be honest about
your allegiance with me and defend it, instead
of conceding that I am wrong and divisive.
I delivered the Af/Am votes that put you in
the IL Senate, I made your political career,
and you're not furthering it now by trampling
over me".
And in Obama's latest reactions, you can see
the freshly-made conflict between them -
"The remarks of my former pastor"
Attn: Barack. That is only because he retired.
You had your chance to leave, for 20 years.
Instead you attended and looked the other way
on it, for the votes it delivered for you.
Now you are suddenly a racial uniter, with
superior judgment, to whom words matter?
Hypocrite, busted. Next...

Barack Obama has done nothing as Senator, the 13th ward is still a mess. He got a free ride from when he was a kid, to becoming a Senator, to now.
ReplyDeleteHillary spent most of her life working for this.
Obama has never earned anything. He should have to earn it.
Barack Obama is Elmer Gantry. His style is to strut right in & steal the credits from true accomplishers,& call it his accomplishments, he will plaigarize words from original authors, & call them his own, He will steal Hillary Clinton's policies & ideas & call them his own, he will steal the thunder of people that suffered through the Civil Rights Movement, & even claim that he was there helping MLK,
until someone actually has the guts to tell him that was impossible, so then he will say he did not mean it like that.
He has never accomplished 1 thing. But thanks to Emil Jones Jr, the accomplishments of others who worked so hard for them, got stolen right out from under them & given to Barry Obama.
Obama lied and said he did something about the Exelon nuclear dumping that contaminated the drinking water in Illinois.
ReplyDeleteHe denies he received campaign funding from Saddam Hussein terrorist funder, Nadmi Auchi, his first cousin, Raila Odinga, is a terrorist, mass murderer that killed thousands of people and burned children in a church, he received campaign funding from Rashid Khalid, a Pakistani terrorist,
He has close ties to Edward Said--plagiarist, fabricator, and prominent PLO/Arafat advisor, Ali Abunimah, Palestinian activist and Islamist, and are among many other Middle Eastern terrorist supporters,
along with his ties with anti-american socialists, the Weathermen.
The GOP is just waiting to vet this guy. It is hard to believe that anyone thinks he is electable, with all this info at our fingertips.
Obama got his money from Rezko who got his 3.5 million from Auchi:
ReplyDelete-Nadhmi Auchi is an Iraqi-born billionaire who was charged along with Saddam Hussein for conspiring to assassinate Prime minister (president) Abdul Karim Qasim and stood trial in 1959. (Auchi gave fellow Baath Party members machine guns from his home for Saddam Hussein.)
-Auchi protected secret money for Saddam Hussein AND Muammar al-Gadaffi.
(Remember, Obama's Trinity church Pastor Wright went with Nation of Islam minister Louis Farrakhan in 1993 to visit Libyan socialist leader Gadaffi.)
-Auchi also financially backed Saddam Hussein's plan for a pipeline from Iraq to Saudi Arabia.
-Rezko was also a business partner with Nation of Islam Founder's son: Jabir Herbert Muhammad.
Why isn't the media talking about all of Barack Obama's scary friends who have ties to the worst people in history?
*Obama's first cousin and close friend, Raila Odinga just became co-President of Kenya (after 1,000 people were killed) ...who signed a secret pact with Muslim jihadists who were to ethnically cleanse people?
And why does Raila Odinga use Obama's exact same campaign slogan: CHANGE....Vote for CHANGE: Look at his website:

Obama's has a false persona. He is like Mr. Magoo. Everything can be collapsing around him like Hyde Park, and he will come out without a single scratch,
ReplyDeleteunscathed. According to Obama's teachers he was not very intelligent, and had trouble learning. He supposedly became President of the Harvard Law Review
but never wrote anything for it. So is this Bimbo just lucky like George W? He just cruises through life getting free passes.

Louis Farrakhan, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Tony Rezko, Oprah Winfrey, Emil Jones, Jr, Bill Richardson, Bob Casey Nadmi Auchi, Raila Odinda, William Ayers,
Harry Dean????? So many political paybacks, who will be the puppetmasters??????

Obama's pastor keeps spewing out his anti-american hatred. The truth is Obama Sr. was no hero during the Civil Rights movement.
ReplyDeleteHe instead came to America on a free ride, and thanks to the hard work of a fellow Kenyan, Mboya and the freedoms of America, he was able to attend the best schools in this country. This was a very generous thing for America to do for a foreign born man, without his doing anything in the name of Civil Rights or for anyone other than Obama Sr. The Obamas have always been for the Obamas. They have never had to face the same struggles that other African Americans had to face.
This man grew up with privilege, He went to Harvard. It's the difference between watching a war on TV and actually being in a war. The nut does not fall far from the tree. Obama jr. is as selfish as his father.
Obama never had a dog in the fight.
Wake up my black brothers and sisters, you are being duped. Don't let this guy come in the last 5 minutes and steal the thunder of what the Civil Rights Movement was about.
This guy has holes like swiss cheese, he's the thinnest man in America right now, you should be able to see right through him. He's not presidential material, especially under the American banner.
He certainly doesn't deserve the honor of being the first African American President. This guy comes in the last five minutes, and acts like he's the hero, while everyone else has been fighting the good
fight. He comes in in his nice pressed suits, with complete and utter arrogance, unbruised, unscathed, with a Harvard piece of paper that he hardly worked for, and says "Thank you very Much", We've fought
a long hard battle, now we're here". Sorry but his hate comes from somewhere completely different, my black brethren. Please Wake Up!!!
It is so easy to manipulate the masses
ReplyDeleteAfirmative Action gave us this Barack Obama.. Neither Barack Obama or his family never had deal with slavery, and all the other issues that come with it.
His father comes from Kenya, gets a scholarship, for the one simple reason that he was a black immigrant. He did nothing with his degree...didn't raise his son...didn't provide child support...
didn't do any things for Civil Rights...he was just another drunk driver, that never learned from his mistakes after he lost both limbs from drunk driving...
because after that he was found wrapped around a tree. Obama Jr. chose to pay homage to this man, instead of his white mother, Stanley, who wasn't much better than his father, btw, but she was better.
At least her family raised him, and got him into the private Punahou High School in Hawaii by filling out the Affirmitive Action paperwork. Because believe me, his grades wouldn't have gotten him anywhere,
if not for Affirmitive Action. Punahou is not for the impoverished. It is not a public school. It is a private school founded by missionaries in 1841 as a college - Oahu College - for their children.
Now a prominent K-12 school, admission is based on competitive academic qualifications. Tuition is close to $17,000 a year. As a private school, all other expenses - lunch, books, uniforms, activities,
sports - are additional expenses.
Obama rode that Affirmitive Action train all the way to Harvard...not on his intellect..not on his average grades..but AFFIRMITIVE ACTION!!!
Even though his family never had a dog in the fight, never had to suffer through slavery. Neither he or his father would have have been a candidate for 40 acres and a mule, but yet African Americans choose
to pick this man as their representative! Even though he has shady dealings, even though he never even wrote anything as Editor of the Law Review, even though he never did anything to help the 13th ward,
ewen though he never told his racist pastor that he was wrong to spew out his racist rants. There are many African Americans more suited to become President then this sham of man.
I know, it hard for some to overcome their ego, their longing to be accepted by their peers, and the reason that it's really too hard to accept this, even though a few of the posters who do see the truth,
and post it, but get negative responses of name calling, instead of investigating it first and actually doing the work and telling the African American Community what the real deal.
Barack Obama’s influences and associates have Communist connections. Obama himself admits attending "socialist conferences."
ReplyDeleteObama's communist connections
* DAVID AXELROD is a left-leaning Democratic political consultant who’s mother was once a journalist on the pro-communist paper PM. PM was considered the alternative paper in Communist Party circles to the Daily Worker. David Axelrod is a political consultant for Barack Obama.
* William Ayers was a former member of the Weathermen, a revolutionary Marxist organization that engaged in bombings. Ayers had no regrets in his group's terrorist activities which included bombings of the United States Senate and Pentagon; Ayers was quoted saying, "I don't regret setting bombs; I feel we didn't do enough." Ayers is now a college professor. Obama praised Ayers concerning an article he wrote on the juvenile justice system in Chicago. Ayers and Obama served together on the board of the Woods Fund of Chicago. Ayers gave Obama a $200 donation for his reelection for state senate of Illinois.
* Frank Marshall Davis, a close mentor of Obama’s in the 70’s, was an admitted member of the Communist Party-USA. Obama mentions him multiple times in his book. The House on Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) accused Davis of involvement in several communist-front organizations."
Tim Wheeler of Baltimore, Maryland an Obama supporter and a second generation member of the Communist Party.
Have you wondered why the mainstream media are so "in the tank" for Obama? The usual explanation is that they're "more liberal" than the general population or that they have an "abiding commitment" to civil rights and thus think "it's time" to elect a black president.
ReplyDeleteHorsefeathers. This is all about affirmative action and how it has transformed the media. Having spent more than 20 years in the MSM, I have an explanation that you will not find on any blog -- because most people are too fearful to admit the obvious.
About 30 years ago, the powerful American Society of Newspaper Editors decreed that the staff of every newspaper should mirror the racial/ethnic composition of the communities they cover. Every year, the society publishes statistics to show who's meeting this goal and shame those who aren't. This has had a profound effect on the hiring practices of all media.
In my view, it would be better to hire people who mirror the racial/ethnic composition of actual readers and viewers. But let's leave that aside. No one in the media is thinking like that. To them, quotas are everything.
What's happened is that every newsroom in America now has a large contingent of minority writers and editors. Some of these newcomers are talented and deserved their shot. But a lot of them were aggressively recruited solely because of race, regardless of their ability. Remember Jayson Blair, the black reporter who was elevated to the New York Times before he even earned a bachelor's degree, and then caused a big scandal because he fabricated and plagiarized dozens of stories? Then, after he was fired, he had the nerve to write a book entitled "Burning Down My Master's House."
This is not an uncommon scenario. In my experience, for every hard-working objective "black professional" in the media there is an angry subjective "professional black" who has a racial agenda. Unfortunately, it's the "professional blacks" who make the most noise and scare the crap out of their white colleagues.
This is the real reason why the media are "in the tank" for Obama. Because the vast majority of minority journalists support him, and their lily-livered white colleagues just want to "get along," we now have a situation in which the MSM are monolithically supporting Obama -- doing everything they can to minimize the damage whenever he makes a misstep, showing no mercy to Hillary, and totally abrogating their responsibility to fairly cover the election.

Obama claims that Jeremiah Wright is not the same guy he knew 20 years ago, but just recently in 2006, Obama donated 22,500 to Wright's church. So is Wright any different now then he was 1 1/2 years ago.
ReplyDeleteJeremiah Wright has never changed. Obama is the one who changed. He has turned on Wright just to get elected. Anyone with half a brain knows that Obama believes in James Cone's Black Liberation Theology, which is what Wright teaches in that church. Obama sat in that church for 20 years, based his book on the sermons of Wright, got married in that church, baptized his children in that church, donated 22,500 in just one year to that church, gave Wright a big position in his campaign, and calls Wright his mentor, spiritual advisor and Uncle. Now Obama/Axelrod really take the American people for a bunch of idiot sheep and hope they believe Obama's B.S. excuses!
I say let's not prove them right!!! Don't fall for this one, people, Wake up before it's too late!!!
If you want to really know who Obama is and what he has accomplished (nothing)....Here's just a small glimpse....

Dear Voters:
ReplyDeleteI have watched our government and media over the last 8 years, lie to us, deceive us, manipulate our fears with terror warnings and intelligence briefings. I have seen this administration completely disregard our environment and act as though the great American dollar is more important than clean air and water. More important than the human right to shelter, food and healthcare. I have seen our government give tax breaks to the richest of Americans and have seen the middle class and poorer folks get totally anhilated.
I have seen executive power at its worst and it is time for a new chapter. It is time for a strong focus on our potentially crumbling environment for children grandchildren and us. It is time for leadership in the most amazing forms and I believe that Barack Obama is that leader.
I do not care what his preacher says, I don’t care what his wife says. I care what he has to offer. I realize that the Clinton era provided plenty of tabloid news and plenty of fodder for the media and I know that this is what is currently driving the media in its pursuit of manipulating this election. I know that someone like Obama provides really no juicy tabloids like a Clinton.
Unfortunately, there are folks in this country that still make their election decisions based upon what the media tells them and it is a shame that we are not there yet. I realized last night that if the Media can affect 5% of the electing population, that 5% is enough to affect the total outcome. This is not acceptable right now. We need a new direction and if you think for one minute that voting for Hillary to continue a lesser form of a monarchy is the answer, you are wrong. This nation cannot afford divisiveness. Hillary Clinton is a likeable person after watching her for the past year, but unfortunately the Republicans have already vilified her. They have already affected the opinions of ½ the country by calling her a slob, a witch, etc. How do you see this as being able to be effective?
Imagine your first day at your new job and you find that your new boss has already told all of your peers that you are difficult, rude and incompetent. Regardless of your abilities, this does not help you in your pursuit of doing your best job. We need a leader on day 1 that can bring people together to fix our problems. Do you really think that Hillary has the ability to do that with all of her baggage? Like her or not, she is not going to bring this country together. Bill’s past and the unfortunate dislike of her won’t let it happen.
We are a generation that is fed up with our consumerism all at the hands of our oceans, mountaintops and forests. There is a younger generation who believes that we can create an energy independent world full of possibilities and full of clean renewable energy. I realize that the Oil companies in this country are enormous and pretty much run this country, but it is time to say “NO MORE”
I realize that there are racial divides in this country, but I ask that you look into the future and ask yourself if you see things really changing. Obama’s vision for clean technology is the best amongst all of the candidates. His policy and plans for this country have the real potential for bringing this country together to build a totally new, renewable economy. If we do not act on environment, it may be too late. If we do not act on Social Security, it may be too late. If we do not act on bringing the parties together and working to solve our problems, it may be too late.
Thanks for listening and please consider Voting for Barack Obama on Tuesday. Really consider it!
Here is a link to a story I just read about Obama's new pastor. Is this story true?

Why Some White People Have To Vote For Obama?
ReplyDeleteIt is extremely difficult for a person with any intelligence to
understand why some White people have voted for Obama. To vote for him
is simply an admission that the American overwhelming majority Whites are incompetent and incapable of managing and leading their own country. That Whites have to reduce their status themselves by asking a Black man whose ancestors were not even American to do such important jobs. Are they too lazy to do it themselves. Shame!
