Why waterboard suspects 266 times?

Apparently, it's not to hear what they say they know. It's to get them to say what you want to hear. McClatchy's D.C. web site reports that the info the Bush administration wanted from their suspects was the link between Al-Qaida and Saddam, a link which would justify the Iraq war:

"There were two reasons why these interrogations were so persistent, and why extreme methods were used," the former senior intelligence official said on condition of anonymity because of the issue's sensitivity.

"The main one is that everyone was worried about some kind of follow-up attack (after 9/11). But for most of 2002 and into 2003, Cheney and Rumsfeld, especially, were also demanding proof of the links between al Qaida and Iraq that (former Iraqi exile leader Ahmed) Chalabi and others had told them were there." . . . "There was constant pressure on the intelligence agencies and the interrogators to do whatever it took to get that information out of the detainees, especially the few high-value ones we had, and when people kept coming up empty, they were told by Cheney's and Rumsfeld's people to push harder," he continued.

  5. Liberals this..liberals that...I love how name calling gets so pointless when it comes to futile arguments...there comes a point when torturing becomes pointless just as your arguments for it does...we are quickly regressing to the 1800s...but I guess most "non-liberals" like this de-evolution of humanity to take place...when does it come to the point when we are just like what we despise?....hypocrisy at its fullest...CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Yeah, after the second or third time, send them to meet their 77 virgins...

  7. Exactly allah, if you can no longer interrogate these individuals without providing full rights, such as Miranda, what possible reason is there to capture them alive? To subject our troops to increased risks to capture high value targets with no good coming from it.

  8. MIRANDA RIGHTS---"The person in custody must, prior to interrogation, be clearly informed that he or she has the right to remain silent, and that anything the person says may be used against that person in court; the person must be clearly informed that he or she has the right to consult with an attorney and to have that attorney present during questioning, and that, if he or she is indigent, an attorney will be provided at no cost to represent him or her."....derrr...rights?..what rights?...please make some sense..the point was they don't want them silent.

  9. Waterboarding is much better than cutting their heads off.

  10. Since Bush and his neocons claims waterboarding is not torture and not painful they need to haul him downtown for waterboarding to get to the real truth of 911 and how convenient it was to make up WMD lies or how 40 yr business partner billionaire bin Laden gave orders from a cave with his cell phone 10k miles in the middle of nowhere. Some people have trouble with dead zones 10 miles away.
Clearly this preorchestrated bogus preemptive attack on 3rd world nations was a rig.

We also have a prob with Bush and Obama worshiping Marxist Republican red King Abe the tyrant who killed 700k Americans with his own preemptive war almost 150 yrs ago to free the slaves when astute Rep Ron Paul correctly pointed out that all other Euro nations ended it without a war.

Ron Paul correctly says all they had to do was pass a law in DC to end slavery and it would have been over. The north and south did not want to go to war with each other but Lincoln forced it while closing 100s of newspapers in the north who dissented and jailing or executing 1000s more suspending due process of law proving it only takes one nutzoid manically depressed tyrant to destroy whole nations and force their bogus power grab wars.

Obama on Lincolns 200th birthday said since the north didnt punish the south then he would not punish those who invaded Iraq? HUH?
Did the south preemptively invade the north? Did Iraq preemptively invade America?

Lets not forget that Lincoln and Karl Marx had many documented contacts and the Manifesto was published in 1848 just in time for Bush and Obamas hero.

And Mr. Obama went to Iraq last week and praised the troops for a "magnificant" job yet said nothing about the massive death and destruction with millions of innocents killed or maimed or trillions wasted?

Sounds like the 3rd term of Bush. Meet the new boss same as the old boss...

Lets waterboard Bush and get to the real truth sinceits not torture.

  11. And you wonder why your buddies at the Observer are getting laid off....? Waterboarding is a great tactic. Its 100% mental. There are no burn marks, cuts, bleeding, or damage done to your body...Only the "perception" you are drowning. We should use it more. I am sure the people who jumped out of 110 story windows would gladly trade.

  13. I think we should torture some of these scum every day of their miserable lives. Death is to good for them. Obama and company seem to want to apologize to those who attacked us. He has let some go in the last 100 days who have attacked us again.

I wander if some people who defend the terrorists saw husbands, wives, mothers, and fathers jump to their death from the world trade center? They probably don't care.
